It’s no surprise that La Jolla is one of the most popular beach destinations in California. This stunning  seaside paradise is located 15 minutes from downtown San Diego. A great escape to the jewel of Southern California and enjoy the beach at La Jolla, CA. 

Swimmers, snorkelers and kayakers dip into La Jolla Cove, where the protected waters shield an abundance of bright orange Garibaldi fish and sea caves indent the cliffs. The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, the family-friendly Birch Aquarium and the acclaimed La Jolla Playhouse deliver breaks from the sun.

La Jolla Cove is one of the most well known attractions in La Jolla. Complete with crystal-clear blue water, pleasant swimming temperatures, and an abundance of marine life to observe, it’s become a favorite spot for snorkeling and scuba diving.

Mount Soledad,  Located at La Jolla Scenic Drive South has spectacular views, The Veterans Memorial is really very impressive itself. From here we can see the whole town, specially the beautiful La Jolla beach, but also downtown San Diego and even Mexico.

Scripps Pier, head to La Jolla Shores Beach and walk north to the Scripps Pier. It is one of the world’s largest working piers and enables scientists at the Scripps Institute of Oceanography to monitor changes in the Pacific Ocean as well as study sea life.

Sunny Jim Sea Cave is the only sea cave in California that is accessible by land. The old wooden staircase leading into the cave is actually inside of the Cave Store on Coast Blvd.

The Stuart Collection is an amazing series of 18 pieces public art to enjoy on the campus of UC San Diego. Once you park, it’s free to explore and makes for an interesting scavenger hunt of sorts for yourself or with kids in tow.
